Pest Control in Lahoma, Oklahoma
Lahoma is about 11 miles west of Enid. It was settled in 1894, right after the land run, and its buildings moved in 1901 to sit next to a new rail line. The name is the last three syllables of Oklahoma. It was a farm town into the 1960s and since then has become a bedroom community for people working in Enid. The 2020 census counted 539 residents, and Cimarron Public Schools serve the area.
Newer homes and older farmhouses sit side by side here, and the pest calls cover both.
Newer Houses
Newer homes still get ants in spring and mice in fall. Common entry points are garage door corners, the gap where the AC line goes through the wall and dryer vents. Spiders settle in garages and storage closets.
Older Farmhouses
Older houses have more gaps, more wood near the ground and often a basement or cellar. That means more chances for mice, termites and spiders. A termite inspection is worth doing if you've never had one, especially after spring swarms.
- Check the cellar or basement for droppings and spiders
- Look for mud tubes on the foundation
- Seal around old plumbing and wiring holes
