Cockroach Control in Enid, Oklahoma

Roach calls in Enid come in two flavors. The first is the German cockroach, a small tan roach that lives indoors in kitchens and bathrooms and multiplies fast. The second is one of the big roaches, like the American cockroach, that lives outside or in drains and wanders into the house.

They take different approaches, so it helps to know which one you have before the provider comes out.

Small Roaches in the Kitchen

Extension guides describe the adult German cockroach as only about half an inch long, light to dark brown, with two dark stripes behind the head. It can't survive outdoors. It hides near food, water and warmth: behind the fridge, under the sink, around the dishwasher and inside cabinet hinges. Females carry their egg case around until it's ready to hatch.

Baits are the main tool for German roaches. Small dabs of gel bait, no bigger than a pea, go where the roaches hide. Spraying over bait can keep roaches from eating it, so a good provider keeps the two apart. Sanitation matters just as much. Our guide on what draws roaches in covers the kitchen side.

Big Roaches From Outside

American cockroaches run about one and a half to two inches long and are reddish brown. Large roaches breed outdoors and indoors, so the work happens in both places. Closing gaps under doors and around pipes keeps them out, and outdoor baits and perimeter treatments do more than gel baits for these.

Apartments, Rentals and Restaurants

German roaches spread between units through shared walls and plumbing. If you rent, tell your landlord, since treating one apartment alone rarely holds. Restaurants and other food businesses usually set up a regular service with the provider. Tell us what kind of property it is when you call.

Questions We Get

Do foggers work on roaches?

Not well on German roaches. They hide in cracks the fog doesn't reach, and spray residue can keep them away from bait.

I see one big roach a month. Do I need service?

Maybe not. A stray American roach in late summer is common. Seal gaps under doors and call if you start seeing more.
